The Veil and the Mirror: Understanding the Illusion of Separation

From the moment we are born, we are taught to see ourselves as separate from each other, from the Earth, from the Divine. But what if this perceived separation is the greatest illusion of all?

The veil is the invisible layer that shrouds our perception, making the physical world seem like all there is. Yet beneath the veil lies a mirror; one that reflects not only the world but our own infinite nature. When we peer into this mirror, we begin to realise that the trees, the stars, the people we meet, are not apart from us; they are us, wearing different faces.

The ancient Hermetic principle of “As above, so below; as within, so without” hints at this truth. The One expresses itself as the Many, and yet the Many remain expressions of the One. In moments of deep stillness or connection, the veil lifts, and the mirror shows us the true nature of reality: that we are all One, and everything is interconnected.

Let this be a gentle reminder to look beyond appearances. The world is not outside you; it is a reflection of you.
